"I have a 10 yr. old Miniature Pinscher named "Pooh" that was diagnosed with arthritis Jan, 2010. He was falling frequently and having trouble getting up on his own. We had to literally pick him up and put him on his feet if he fell. He was given Prednisone 5mg for a week and did progress while on this. Since this is not a drug that can be taken for a long period of time, he was given a very small dose of Meloxicam daily. I could not tell a difference in him while on this. "I have a 10yr old Registered Quarter Horse Gelding named Skips Mickey Lee "Mick" for short. I have had him since he was a little over 2yrs old. "I would like to take a moment to thank you. I have always been about quality of life, and not quantity. When my 8 1/2 year old female German shepherd , Zoom, starting having orthopedic problems that were requiring long term use of Rimadyl, I started to question her quality of life. I knew I would not continue to maintain her on Rimadyl due to the potential side effects, and the fact that she was in constant pain and discomfort. "In the Summer of 2009 my horse Georgia, a registered half-Arabian mare, was diagnosed with Laminitis. With 6-8 degree rotation of the coffin bone I held little hope that this mare would ever be sound again much less ridable. For a month I tried traditional laminitis therapies but to no avail.
